Wine Philosophy

There can not exist natural wine without natural soil and clean air. It is therefore of utter importance to establish a plantation in a chemically unaltered soil and maintain its balance over the course of the vine’s natural life.

The location

Equally important is the air quality in the vicinity of the vineyard. We have therefore selected plots in an ancient river valley that consistently registers the highest air quality in the south of Romania. THEODOROS wine is and always will be crafted from our manually harvested and sorted, organically grown, perfectly healthy grapes. The fruit that was selected for each vintage has been grown by mature, noble, Vitis vinifera varieties (Fetascã Neagrã, Negru de Drãgãșani, Novac) planted in the fertile soil at the geographical border between Oltenia and Muntenia, alongside the ancient Dârjov Valley, near the ancient Oboga archeological site.

Manually crafted

Parcels have been chosen after very strict and rigorous selection and the plantation has been established in gravel and silt rich earth that has not seen agricultural work in the last 70 years. The entire estate is surrounded by the Dârjov river and the ancient Oboga forest. Vineyard operations in their entirety have been and always will be carried out manually with utmost respect for nature and all life within.

Philosophy

THEODOROS at its core stands for “Gift from God” and we embrace this notsolely- symbolical gift with gratitude and understand to obey the laws governing our existence, because fundamentally, the true master artisan of our wine has been and always will be nature itself.
